I usually think a single Kemper Profile on its own is a bit of a waste of time, but this is a bit of an exception. Marshall Super Bass modded to Adam Jones Super Lead specs (essentially most of the way to a 1959 circuit with some 1992 values carried over. Its a gainy amp and the controls are typical Plexi in that they don't do a great deal. Its mostly about the presence control, the bright cap, and how the channels are mixed. And from there, the cabinet and micing makes a huge difference.

To match the tone of Undertow and Aenima, I believe actually used pretty similar mics for both albums - a Sennheiser 421 and sm57 blended together on a Marshall V30 cab. This combination on a 1960BV cab has worked tremendously well for me for these tones and thats what I've included on this preset.

BONUS: I've just tried some Adam Jones settings found online for his Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Rev G and they sound GREAT. You now get a profile based on this included as well. Its a tight Rectifier sound with lots of mids and a thumping low end.

I totally recommend experimenting with the dist. sensitivity parameter to get the gain and response feeling right for your guitar and DI.

This is a concise pack, purely aimed at the "Adam Jones" sound with 2 amps and one specifically tailored .kpir. For more tonal options, check out the individual 1992 and Dual Rectifier packs with many more profiles per amp.

No involvement from Adam Jones or Tool or anyone other than scavenging around whatever information I can find online.

You can hear the results below.

Frustrated

Can’t get these profiles to add to my library in my kemper

Hi Roger - I responded to your email last week in order to help and never heard anything back from you.

What method are you using to load them onto the Kemper? Do they load into Rig Manager?
