The journey for Mirror Profiles to develop the most accurate and real sounding cabinet IR's possible has been an obsession for several years.

So many IR's are created without a deep enough understanding of the interactions between a power amp and guitar cabinet. This can result in IR's that are only accurate in very particular conditions, and don't sound good when they're used with other load boxes or modellers. 

After much trial and error, testing a raft of the most popular load boxes and modelling products and constantly A/Bing against micing up amps and cabinets as you would in the studio, we landed on a method of capturing IR's that we believe gives unrivalled results.

Not only that, but we've captured every speaker in each cabinet we sample with several classic microphones across the width of the speaker (not just one edge to the centre). This allows you to choose the most appropriate sounding speaker for what you need - the slight variations in tone can be just the ticket to fine tune the sound you're after. 

Every cab has its own impedance load and curve, and often these can make amps sound and behave in unique ways. Reactive load boxes have their own curves - sometimes close to the cabinet being sampled, and sometimes it can produce quite a different result. As well as IR's that we call "clean" (no poweramp colouration), we also provide compensated IR's that have a correction curve to adjust for how a load box can apply a different sounding load to an amp to the cab in question.

These corrected IR's can be used to produce the most accurate results possible, but also they can sound great by creatively mismatching for slight tonal sweetening.
